The External Security Assessment checks your web servers and network configuration for security weaknesses that would make it possible for them to be infiltrated, maliciously or accidentally. Your company’s patch management is also thoroughly investigated. If poorly configured or out-of-date, patches are particularly attractive targets for worm and virus attacks.

The external risk assessment does not stop at technical vulnerabilities and security risks. It also analyses security threats to your network that involve your staff simply forgetting or not following security procedures, which leaves your network vulnerable. A typical example of this kind of a soft target involves users who have been given remote access, but the permissions have not been withdrawn, leaving the whole network wide open to attack.
